Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou born Beaumont, Puy-deDomme France in August 9th 1976. She is the oldest child of 4 children. She was encouraged by her parents, a dentist and teacher and both of them were teachers. They encouraged her to pursue her passion for the theatre. This was in contrast her earlier ambition to become a primateologist because she was a fan of monkeys. Early success and a rapid increase in recognition made her a promising young actor. Before she began to pursue the acting profession, she participated in Jeunes Premiers which was a French talent search TV program sponsored by Canal+ in 1998. She also won The award for the Best Young Actress for during the Beziers Festival of Young Actors. Tautou was a student at in the Institut Catholique de Paris in Paris as a child and was a student there from young age but has sworn off her Catholic childhood. Now, she says she is not a Catholic. Apart from her acting work, she also pursued modelling. She was the model in the commercials for L'Oreal Mont Blanc, Chanel and was dubbed "The Chanel Muse". An avid photographer, she has recently exhibited in The Arles International Festival that was titled Superficial. The work she produces is focused on fame as well as the fame. Also, it features portraits of herself and focus on journalists that have scrutinised Tautou since her meteoric popularity after Amelie. Audrey Tautou's debut role, as Amelie Poulain's leading actor in the film Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie, landed the actress international fame. Amelie won international acclai the box office and was recognized at award ceremonies all over the world. The film is still the top grossing French film of the French language in the US. Following this success Tautou starred in a wide range of film productions ranging that ranged from British dramatics like Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things to Jean-Pierre Jeunet's film Un long Sunday de fiancailles and moving into Hollywood under the direction of Ron Howard of the Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code with Tom Hanks.
