Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14th 1988) was an American actress, singer and dancer. One of her first Broadway shows include Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. As the character Essie In You Can't Take It With You she received the Tony Award. Annaleigh Ashley Tony Award winning actor and actress, has worked with directors, actors, and other performers in stage and on screen throughout all of her career. Ashford's next venture will be a limited edition Hulu series titled Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show debuts on November 22 and Ashford plays opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford's current film will be Searchlight Pictures horror thriller Dust which he is starring in with Sarah Paulson and Ebonmoss-Bachrach. The film is an Hulu Original, the film will be a part of Disney DTC's platforms. Ashford is set to return in 2023, and will be starring opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre for the return of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will serve as the creators of the musical. Ashford has been seen most recently in the role of Paula Jones in Ryan Murphy FX show American Crime Story Impeachment. This show is based around the National Crisis, which saw Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp at the center of the nation's first impeachment proceedings during the Over a Century. She was in two seasons on the cult CBS comedy B Positive. It was created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre with the famous Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. Ashford, who is not unfamiliar with Broadway won both Tony Drama Desk Awards as in addition to Outer Critics Circle Awards in the role as Essie. Other Broadway credits include Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the lead role in Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots a performance for which she was awarded a second Tony Award nomination. Ashford is a native of Denver. She was born and raised in Denver and now lives between Los Angeles and New York.
